RECIPE FOR UNICORN BARK

Tools Needed: 9 x 13 pan, aluminum foil  or parchment paper, 4 microwavable safe bowls, toothpicks, spatula or spoons, gloves

Ingredients
  • 1 lb and 3 oz Wilton Candy Melts in White (Two Bags 12 oz per bag http://a.co/2IOMedJ)
  • Wilton Candy Coloring in Violet, Green, and Pink (http://a.co/0TcBrQI)
  • White Sugar Pearls: (http://a.co/7khK8qY)
  • Assorted Sprinkles
Products are also available from Michaels with a 40% off discount that they usually have for one item. Links are just for references on how they look.

Directions
  1. You may skip this step if you have already purchased sprinkles you already would like to use. Pour a couple white sugar pearls into small bowls. Put on a glove, swipe some food coloring onto one of your fingers and begin mixing the color onto the pearl. Color each pearl as desired, or in violet, pink, hot pink, green, yellow. Let it dry completely before using to decorate.
  2. Line a 9 x 13 pan with foil or parchment paper (I recommend parchment paper)
  3. Divide the candy melts in 1 lb, 1 oz, 1 oz, 1 oz, and place them in individual bowls. The 1 oz's will be the colored candy melts, and 1 lb will be a plain white base.
  4. Melt the chocolate according to the instructions, I melted mine in 30 seconds to 15 minutes intervals until they were completely melted. Re Warm as needed because this need to be melty to be able to do the design.
  5. Color the 1 oz candy melts in violet, green, and pink using a toothpick, and stir with a spatula to get the colors well incorporated.
  6. Pour the melted 1 lb of white candy melts into the pan, add dollops of each color all around the pan, and swirl around with a toothpick. Reheat any candy as needed but you need to make sure to work quick because the candy melts dries fast.
  7. Decorate with sprinkles. Let it harden completely before removing from pan and foil and cutting.

Regular food coloring, icing, color could be use on sugar pearls but not candy melts.

Special Wilton Candy Melt coloring is used specifically for candy melts. Do not use regular food coloring to dye candy melts. The one I'm using has colors green, pink, and violet that I used for this tutorial.
